This was a hype video that we put together to showcase the 42nd Force Support Squadron for the General Curtis E. Lemay Award. This award goes to the Best Large Force Support Squadron in the United States Air Force every year. The hype video is an unofficial tradition that the two top bases make to represent their squadrons to the review panel judges. Our squadron’s motto is “Unleash The Force!“ We naturally adopted a Star Wars theme, and it was Commander Major Michelle Richard’s idea to centralize our video around this.
I was involved in all phases of this project from planning, design, and production. In one sleepless week, myself and my co-director Ashley Pitts, filmed, edited, and created all the special effects. We had the participation and help of the entire squadron, Base Security Forces, OSS, and the Alabama Garrison of the 501st. This was a very fulfilling project to be a part of because it brought the 42nd Force Support Squadron together in a way I had never seen before.
